I do photography only very occasionally and try to avoid it so I don't take away business from my great photographer friends in the area (not that I'm any substitute for their skills, but I digress).

I've found a bit of a fun niche in the Hillsboro area taking sports and event photos for the Hillsboro Banner and for the Hillsboro high school yearbook - that is, until I teach some of the students there how to use a DSLR for themselves.

Well, I wasn't on the boat, but Justin and Kathryn were! They had their wedding at a beautiful resort outside of Alexandria, MN. The weather was picture-perfect for an outdoor wedding, and they celebrated with a brief boat ride along the perimeter of the lake.

We had a wonderful time filming Nathan and Janelle's day. However, it was one for the birds, and I mean that in the most literal way possible. Check out the video to see which of our avian friends gave Nathan a little congratulatory surprise.

A few weekends ago I filmed Robert and Melissa's big day! I'm just now getting a chance to upload this preview clip from their wedding!

It was a big, fun group to film! Unfortunately we had a little bit of a technical difficulty during the wedding service. I assure you, we've never had this happen before! Watch the clip to find out what happened.

Last Thursday was the second running of the Hillsboro 5K. The event saw a much larger turnout and a faster winning time than last year's event, held in September.
